TITLE: Becoming a vegetarian?

INSTRUCTIONS: 

As you know, millions of people are vegetarian. They are convinced that a vegetarian diet is good for them and for the environment.

Would you consider becoming a vegetarian?

Think of what you would gain and what you would have to give up. Do you think your health would be better? Would it mean having to spend more money? Would your social life suffer? 

Think of the ethical side of it: being a vegetarian means not contributing to the killing of animals for food? Would that be important for you? 

And there's also an environmental side to it: millions of square kilometres are used for animals to graze (specially cows). This enormous extension would be more productive if crops were planted to feed people not animal. Think of the enormous amount of methane (a green house gas much more powerful than carbon dioxide) produced by hundreds of millions of cows, etc.

WRITE a text commenting on it all. PLEASE, answer the question in as much detail as possible:

Becoming a vegetarian? 

This question makes me think a lot. It is a really important issue that nowadays everyone talks about: if it is better for your health, for the environment, the animals... But it is also a problem whom not the whole world ends up by giving a solution, because it is really difficult to turn into a vegetarian person. 

First of all, you have to give up some kind of meals, that I'm sure they are part of your everyday-diet, as meat or other food related with animals. To stop eating those things is not only difficult for you, it is also for your mental health because your body is used to this type of food and it has to normalise with the change. 

It is true that your body will thank you for this but sometimes it can react in a bad way. Not everybody has born to be a vegetarian. Some people just can't because their organism need some meals to continue their lifes and if they stop eating them, they develop infections or illnesses as anaemia.

Another point is the money. Not every supermarket sells vegetarian products, although now is easier to find them than in the past, they are still hard to find and when you do it, you discover they are more expensive than normal products. All of this is because not everyone consume them, so the people who sell vegetarian meals need to multiply the price. 

The ethical side of it is there too. It is true that most of the animals are treated in a very bad way before they are killed to go to our stomach and this should be eradicated. At least, they should have their own space to live and be treated like real animals and not like guinea pigs.

For me there are lots of advantages of being a vegetarian but there are also some disadvantages. So maybe it is better to be one of them but for now I am going to continue with my normal diet but if you want to change it, it is a good option too. Someday I may change my opinion because it is true a vegetarian life is better for the environment, maybe is not the best for you but it is for the whole planet.

Dear Virginia.

I would ask her back: do the Three Kings really exist, Virginia?, what do you think?

This could be a difficult talk to have with a child, because you have to decide between telling the truth but hurting him or to lie and be conscious that when he discover the fact, you can lose his confidence. But I think all the magic stuff that is around us when we are little is something really wonderful and we are not who to take their hope away. 

We have to let them believe while they can and to think that everything is magical so I wouldn't tell the truth to Virginia, I would let her to believe in what she thinks is the truth, in what she thinks is the most beautiful, because that is what magic is and we can't snatch that from their hands. As long as you have faith in it, it will be true.

TITLE:  My personal view of Christmas

Christmas time is special. Whether you like it or not , however much you like it or not, there's no way to escape it. You turn on the tv and it's there. You walk in the supermarket and the decorations and music reminds you of it. You walk downtown and the lights and the people, the shops remind you of it.

CHRISTMAS TIME.

In my opinion Christmas is one of the best moments of the year. It's a period in which we devote ourselves to the family and also to our friends. And for me, this is the most important thing why I like Christmas, it gives me the enough time to share lots of lovely moments with some relatives I am not able to see during the whole year due to they live far away from me. But, in spite of this, it is also a period of wistfulness, the absence of some people gets bigger during this festivity. 

Another thing that annoy me a lot about Christmas is the fact of crowds everywhere. You cannot  even go to the centre of your city for a walk during those days. But apart from that, Christmas is really beautiful, all the lights throughout the streets, traditional meals, lots of presents...

Obviously, another good reason why I like it, is because I have holidays, so it is also a time of relax in some way.
In addition, as I said, we get presents and maybe this is the best part for children and also for me. 

Even if you don´t like it you have to deal with it, so it is better to receive this period with joy and share these moments with the people you love.

                       A much dreamed of celebration.

A celebration which really attracts my attention is "4th of July". It is the Independence Day of the United States. 

It's a federal holiday in this country that commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and were no longer part of the British Empire.

It is an important date in history but nowadays it has become a day of party and celebration. People attend to concerts, baseball games, barbecues... And something really popular during this day are fireworks. Millions of them are thrown to the sky. This is one of the most iconic images of "Fourth of July". 

I wish someday I'll have the opportunity to go there and enjoy this day as American people do. 

This country, in general, has always attracted me so when I have enough money saved up (around 3.000 or 4.000€), the first place I will definitely visit is the United States, especially during this day. So later I could also visit some other cities as New York or Boston, Washington D.C. or even more! 

My younger sister is also a big fan of this celebration, so I cannot think for a better partner to share this experience with in a near future.

THE STAIR'S GHOST.

A couple with 3 children was getting divorced since the woman had found another man.
But there is something that she didn't know about him. He tortured children, something he found enoyable. He used to hit them, and even locked  them up in rooms. He liked to make them suffer, but the one he hated most was the 10-year-old daughter, whom once he threw down the stairs and killed.

The family had to leave the house due to the depression the mother was suffering at that moment because of the absence of her little girl.

The arrival of a new family to the building didn't last very much. Every single night, they were sure that someone was screaming and asking for help just under the main stair. But every time they go down, nobody was there. 

This has happened whenever a new family buy the house. The noises and shouts are incessantly repeated.

At the moment, the place is empty, but some visitors assure they have seen a shadow going up and down the different floors of the house.
